ジャパンタウンの変貌 strange change of Japan Town

ジャパンタウンにある都ホテルの
オーナーが代わって、
新しく生まれ変わることになったそう。
その名も
KABUKI HOTEL!
(-_-;)・・・。

The owner of the hotel in Japan-town has changed.
As a result, the hotel's name will also be changed from the "Miyako" to the "Kabuki" hotel.
Sounds funny.



メインレストランは日本のスポーツをテーマとして、
店内には日本の野球や相撲のビデオを流すそうな。
O restaurant　という店名のO は王貞治をイメージするらしい。
このセンス、どうなんでしょうか？

The main restaurant of the hotel will also change, adopting a Japanese sports theme, with videos of Japanese baseball and Sumo.
The restaurant will be named "O", after a famous baseball manager.
What exactly are they thinking?


ジャパンタウンはサンフランシスコ内唯一の日本人スポットではあるのだけれど、
訪れる人の大半は韓国や中国の人。
すでに日本企業は撤退して他の国の企業が買い取ったとも聞きます。

Japan-town is the only place in San Francisco aimed at Japanese consumers in the city, but most of the customers are Korean or Chinese.
I've heard that a number of Japanese companies have left the area, with the businesses bought out by people with other backgrounds.


日本人としては、ちょっとさみしい気がします。
それでも納豆を買いに行くけどね。
